Crochet Granny Square Chickens with Sydney

Looking for a cute crochet project to level up your crochet skills? Join us at Up-Stitch for this adorable granny square chicken class for advanced beginner or intermediate crocheters! What's an advanced beginner? If you know how to do a chain, single, half double, double, and treble crochet, you'll find this class is perfect for you!

Whether you're a granny square pro, or have never made a square before, this is a great project for using up leftover yarn, extra squares that didn't quite turn out right, or just because you want a flock of cute crochet birds. Each chicken requires two granny squares of the same size - feel free to bring squares with you, or you can make some simple squares as part of the class. We'll also be using yarn to sew squares together, and crochet a comb, beak, and tail. Bring your own yarn in colors of your choosing, an appropriate crochet hook, and a tapestry needle for sewing - or use materials provided by the shop.

Teens and Adults welcome, $25 and registration is required here!

Each gathering includes:

Soft, supportive music, a brief centering meditation, aromatherapy, light snacks, quiet companionship, with conversation always optional, bring your current project and come as you are.

No instruction, productivity, or sharing is required—only presence. Whether you care for others by profession or by love, this is a space to receive care through rhythm, texture, and connection.

Every 2nd Sunday of the month. A place to slow down, stitch together, and be held by community.
